Use these 5 immune-boosting tips to avoid colds, the flu and other annoyances.
Breathe.
Deeply. Into your belly. Now let it out. Again. And again. While you’re doing this, feel the clean oxygen percolating through your body. Bringing you good health, vitality, energy and life force to every cell in your body. Feel the toxins leaving as you exhale.
Drink.
Water. Lots. Filtered if you got it. Tap water if you don’t. Drink a big glass of it when you wake up in the morning. Then another. Add a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar if you’re feeling adventurous. Or squeeze some lemon into it. A pinch of himalayan salt can’t hurt either. The main thing is to get water into your body where it can help flush out toxins and hydrate your cells.
Move.
Go for a walk. Stretch. Jump around. Doesn’t matter what you do. Just get up off your butt and move it. Our bodies are designed to move. Every day. You don’t have to lift heavy weights unless that’s something you enjoy (I do), but you do need to get your heart rate up and your blood circulating.
Laugh.
Often. Every day. Norman Cousins cured himself of ankylosing spondylitis (an autoimmune disease) by watching Marx Brothers movies. Laughter will kill your pain, get your heart rate up and exercise your belly. ‘Nuff said, what?
Meditate.
Every day. Science now backs what spiritual leaders have been telling us for thousands of years. Go within. Observe your breath. Chant a mantra. Whatever. It doesn’t much matter what you do, but get quiet, get relaxed and get away from the smartphone. Ditch the distractions, and get in touch with yourself. Five minutes is good, 15 minutes is better. Even one minute will help. Do it.
Bonus tip. Visualize.
See yourself in your imagination. Healthy. Vibrant. Energetic. All your bodies organs, tissues and cells working together in harmony. Enjoying life, free of pain, free of “dis-ease”. Running jumping hiking moving. Playing with your kids. Competing in a sports event. Dancing. Making love.
So there you have it. Simple? Yes! Easy? Yes!
So what’s stopping you?
